Sabi answers

Do I need to be technical to use an AI assistant?

No. You do not need to be technical to use an AI assistant. If you can text, you can use Sabi: setup takes about 60 seconds, there is no API key to paste, no prompt to learn and no dashboard to configure. Connecting your email is a one-tap sign-in, the same kind you use to log in with Google.

What does "no setup" mean for an AI assistant?

It means the first thing you do is send a text, not read documentation. With Sabi the whole setup is three moves: text her, connect your email with one tap, and hand off the first job.

The 60-second setup works because Sabi arrives with result-based workflows already built, so you describe the outcome you want instead of designing the process. Sabi needs no API key, no prompt library and no dashboard: setup is a text message, one tap to connect your email and about 60 seconds of your time.

Do I need to learn prompt engineering to get good results?

No. You talk to Sabi the way you would text a human assistant: "Clear my Thursday afternoon" or "Follow up with the leads from last week." Sabi remembers your business, your clients and your priorities between conversations, so you never re-explain who a client is or what matters this quarter.

Writing in your voice works the same way. Ask Sabi to "learn my brand voice" and she studies things you have already written, then drafts emails and posts that sound like you. Sabi learns your tone from what you have already written, so a founder never writes a prompt to get a draft in their own voice.

How do I connect my email and calendar without an IT person?

You tap a sign-in button once. Gmail, Outlook and Microsoft 365 connect through OAuth, which means Sabi never sees your password, and Google Calendar, Outlook and Microsoft 365 calendars connect the same way. Yahoo, AOL and other custom IMAP mailboxes also connect.

The same pattern covers over 3,000 other tools, from HubSpot and Stripe to QuickBooks and Notion, with no API keys and no technical setup. Sabi connects Gmail, Outlook and Microsoft 365 through a one-time OAuth sign-in, so she never sees your password and you never open a settings page.

What does the first day with a non-technical AI assistant look like?

Day one is inbox triage and a text. Sabi filters newsletters, follow-ups and CC chains into a daily digest, surfaces the one or two emails that need a real decision, and drafts replies for you to approve. If you prefer talking to typing, text her a voice memo and she transcribes it with OpenAI Whisper.

On day one Sabi can triage your inbox, draft replies and text you a 5-line morning summary: what needs a reply, what to ignore, what's on fire.

Where do I use it if I do not want another app?

In the messaging app you already open all day. Sabi works in iMessage or SMS first, and also in the web chat at meetsabi.com, Slack, Discord and email. There is an iPhone app and an Android app if you want them, but neither is required.

One honest limit: Sabi is single-user today and built around one founder, so a 50-person ops team is not the fit. Sabi lives in iMessage or SMS, with web chat, Slack, Discord and email as options, so a founder never has to learn a new dashboard.

How to start with Sabi when you are not technical: step by step

    1. Text Sabi. Start at meetsabi.com with free starter credits and no credit card.
    2. Connect your email with one tap. Gmail, Outlook or Microsoft 365 through OAuth; Sabi never sees your password.
    3. Hand off one job in plain words. "Triage my inbox and text me the two emails that need me" is enough.
    4. Say how much freedom she gets. Tell Sabi to draft everything and send nothing without your approval, and a gate written in code enforces it.
    5. Adjust her access as you go. Review or disconnect any integration from inside Sabi, no support ticket needed.

Common mistakes non-technical founders make with an AI assistant

    • Waiting until you have "learned AI." There is nothing to learn first; Sabi runs on the same plain text you send a colleague.
    • Connecting everything on day one. Start with email and calendar, then add HubSpot, Stripe or QuickBooks when you have a report you want.
    • Asking for advice instead of handing off the task. Sabi takes action: she sends, books, updates and posts. "Book it" gets more done than "what do you think."
    • Expecting a team tool. Sabi is built around one founder today; team seats are on the roadmap.

    FAQ

Do I need an API key to use an AI assistant?

No. Sabi connects your tools through OAuth sign-in or a one-tap connection, so there are no API keys to find or paste. Any app password she does need for custom email is stored encrypted in a vault.

Can I run an AI assistant from my phone only?

Yes. Sabi works entirely over iMessage or SMS, and the iPhone and Android apps are optional. Everything from connecting email to approving a draft happens in the text thread.

What if my email is Yahoo or AOL?

It still connects. Sabi supports custom IMAP email alongside Gmail, Outlook and Microsoft 365, so Yahoo, AOL and similar mailboxes work without a technical setup.

Does the AI assistant see my email password?

No. Gmail, Outlook and Microsoft 365 connect through OAuth, a one-time sign-in that never shares your password with Sabi. You can disconnect from inside Sabi or revoke access from Google at any time.
